Weather Conditions
Maui’s weather is ever changing and very unpredictable.
How do we manage to work around that?
We rely on sailing charts to pinpoint the most favorable conditions each day. Unlike standard weather apps that lean on conservative forecasts and often present a week of steady conditions for a single area, we actively monitor Maui’s varied microclimates. This close attention lets us identify the best spots around the island for capturing truly stunning photos.
Occasionally we may recommend meeting in a different location that shows more favorable weather, or propose rescheduling to the next available slot when conditions look significantly better. Forecasts are generally most reliable within a 24-hour window, and if the weather does not align with our expectations, we will communicate any necessary changes promptly.
Please note: We do not reschedule photoshoots simply because it is a windy day, as wind is a normal part of the Maui experience. A photoshoot will only be considered for rescheduling if the County of Maui issues a red-flag, high-wind advisory — in those cases we will discuss alternatives for timing or location.
Our Policy.
Maui’s weather is constantly changing and with that said, weather is the most difficult and uncontrollable variable for us to work with. If your shoot has to be canceled due to inclement weather conditions, rescheduling is penalty free and subject to availability. If another time slot is not available during your travel dates the weather delay becomes a cancellation.
Weather cancellations are made as joint decisions between the client and Pine & Palm Productions. We do our absolute best to be flexible and adaptable to any and all situations. Complete cancellations due to weather are EXTREMELY rare.
